March '11

I'm getting ready to embark on 2 1/2 month tour of the US & Canda with Ari Hest which has us playing coast to coast. The new record on Downtown Records is called 'Sunset Over Hope St. ' My set up for the tour is very unique and i will post allthe details on Gear page. I will come for a few days at the end of April and fly directly to Ankora, Turkey with a great artist/ violinist Daisy Jopling with some great musicians, Daniel Mintseris and Ben Zwerin. I'll be there for one day and fly directly back to work with Donna Lewis with Gerry Leonard for a webcast. I'll imediately return to Ari's tour until May 7th and then fly to Dublin, Ireland to join Declan O'Rourke for a month long tour in support of his new album. From there it's off to Spain with Ari to do a week of touring and then the two of us will fly to Udine, Italy to begin work with a fantastic singer / songwriter, Eva Keretic to record her new CD. It's not over yet.... there will be more Europe touring with Ari and from there.... there's more plans in the works.. ... you just wait and see. I performed with a great artist last night named Lizzy Loeb who is an extaordinary talent. She has such a beautiful voice and her sense of melody and chords are far beyond her years. Her father, Chuck Loeb is one of the great Jazz guitar players in the world and i was fortunate to play with him last night.

Feb '11

I'm continueing to record quite a lot in NY and i'm working with one of the great groups from the Czech Rep, Cechomor at the moment. Tony Levin is on bass and tracking with him was really beyond amazing. It's so incredible how it feelsand sounds when he's playing because i can hear all that he's done with Peter Gabriel and you realize what a big part of Gabriel's sound is Tony. One of the nicest people and such great ideas. We've recorded on tracks together before but there's no replacing what happens when a rhythm section plays together. It was surreal to look up after a take and smile at one another. We are playing on another record together in 10 days.

Jan '11

I've just returned from Hamburg Germany with Ari Hest playing a sold out show with him as well as my dear friend Eva Keretic where i spent amazing time with her husband, Damir and two daughters Dery and Lyssie.Jan / Feb '11I'm continuing to work with one of my all time favorites, David Poe who if you don't know his music you should stop reading this and just go to itunes and buy it. I can't say enough about his songwriting, lyric, voice, melody.... everything.

Dec '11

I was in Europe Nov. '10 playing shows with Donna Lewis and Ari Hest. We played shows in the Czech Rep, Poland and Germany. Ari is releasing a new record we just finished on March 1 and we'll be touring the US, Canada and Europe March, April and May. All the dates will be posted on the Tour section of this site. There's been some traveling and playing with a classical/ Rock violinist Daisy Jopling who's work takes her around the world.We were in Mexico recently to play an outdoor concert that was beautiful.  

I've also been recording with Duncan Sheik who is very busy working on multiple new musicals which are all amazing. He's such an inspiration to work with and i feel so grateful to be working with him. In NY i'm doing work with the great Gerry Leonard on his project called Spooky Ghost. It's an experience that shouldn't be missed. He's created his own voice an atmosphere on guitar unlike anyone you've ever heard. I've also been recording for DavidPoe's new record as well as the upcoming acoustic record for Suzanne Vega. Upcoming shows in NY will include Ari Hest, Thad DeBrock, Donna Lewis, Gabrielle Aimee and many others.

On a recent project i played with Jackson Browne, Valerie Carter, Jonatha Brooke, Dar Williams, Richard Julian, Marshall Crenshaw, Ari Hest, Kelly Flint and many others. It was exciting to work with so many talented people. Their have also been a lot of jingle sessions this past month for Ford, Chrystler, Honey Oats Cereal, Ace Hardware and more. I produced my first record for my brother Drew Yowell who has written amazing songs. He's a beautiful song writer and great guitar player. We haven't worked on a project together for years and it was really great to spend that kind of time and focus with one another. I asked some amazing musicians to come in and contribute to the project. I couldn't have felt more grateful for their friendship and inspiring performances. I will keep updating things as the year unfolds... Happy New Year !!
